Well, it looks like “The Peace Within” album has given us another #1. This time it’s “Kissin’ In Your Sleep” that has hit the top spot (in the Celtic section).
The track is a wonderful blend of Southern-Rock and Irish music. Strains of Lynyrd Skynyrd’s “Sweet Home Alabama” can be heard in the main riff, a song which may well have been influenced by the music of early Irish settlers in that part of the US. Davy Spillane’s first solo (the old traditional tune “Óró, sé do bheatha ‘bhaile”) shows how closely Skynyrd based their classic riff on this tune.
“Kissin’ In Your Sleep” is the perfect mix of the two. You can check it out here
What a perfect present for St. Patrick’s Day!
